People should not make any mixture at home and then sell a cosmetic product in the market.<\/p>\n

It is extremely dangerous and this practice can develop into a serious public health problem!<\/p>\n

Products manufactured in homes do not have microbiological contamination control. Microorganisms that normally exist in the air on dust particles or on surfaces in homes can contaminate the product during handling and begin to proliferate in stages, as it will find an environment rich in nutrients for its growth. When this product rich in bacteria and\/or fungi is used on the skin, lips, eyes or scalp, it may cause serious damage to the consumer, causing severe allergies, serious skin and eye irritation, among other adverse effects.<\/p>\n

Another major problem is the mixture of incompatible ingredients, favoring chemical reactions in the product formulated at home, causing the formation of by-products that are extremely toxic to human health. Remembering that a cosmetic product is a MIXTURE of ingredients, where the intrinsic properties of each ingredient remain even after the product has been formulated.<\/p>\n

A common case of homemade cosmetics is a perfumed body oil, where essential oil is used. Any essential oil, extracted from any plant, is a mixture of several chemical molecules, many of them already known in the scientific world for their benefits to human health. However, they can become toxic after a certain concentration.<\/p>\n

The use of essential oils<\/a> pure directly on the skin, even if it is just a drop, it can cause many disorders in the future, such as in the sexual development of children and even skin cancer.<\/p>\n

The same does not happen if it is for use in aromatherapy, where pure 100% essential oil is applied in diffusers. All essential oils are regulated by ANVISA and the consumer must follow the usage guidelines described on the product label.<\/p>\n

When you decide to buy an essential oil, always read the packaging, the product label, check if it has an operating license number from ANVISA and the product number notified by ANVISA. See who it is manufactured by and what use is recommended by the manufacturer.<\/p>\n

It is worth remembering that it is no coincidence that all cosmetic products began to be regulated by ANVISA, through the creation of the agency through Law No. 9,782, of 01\/26\/1999. Anyone who manufactures cosmetic products at home and sells them without registration will be outside the law and may be prosecuted.<\/p>\n

Irritation and allergy are 60% of reactions to the use of cosmetics <\/strong><\/p>\n

In a recent survey carried out by ANVISA, irritations and allergies correspond to 60% of reactions to the use of cosmetics reported to the Health Surveillance Center by doctors, health services and consumers. The data belongs to the Health Department of the States of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

In addition to irritations and allergies, redness and itching account for 35% of the total reactions to beauty products, and burns account for 8%. The balance also shows that 54% of the reactions are perceived in the skin, followed by the eyes, with 15% and other parts of the body such as the scalp and nails. These are recorded numbers, but we know they can be much higher because many people with reactions to cosmetics do not make any complaints.<\/p>\n

According to the secretariat's report, 120 notifications were analyzed and showed that, regarding the type of cosmetics, the main complaints refer to products for straightening, moisturizing and styling hair, sunscreens, disposable diapers, deodorants, anti-wrinkle and anti-cellulite creams.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough the registered notifications, it was possible to see that reactions caused by cosmetics are caused, above all, by people\u2019s free access to products, inappropriate and\/or premature use, the mixture of different presentations and the belief that cosmetics are not harmful. to health\u201d, said Rita de Cassia Dias, pharmacist responsible for the Cosmetics Health Surveillance Group.<\/p>\n
